After deciding on Paris as your travel destination, a big question that arises is where to stay in Paris. Many luxurious hotels that are situated in the right places for tourists offer their services in the city of love and lights. As first-time travelers to the French Capital, our priority was to stay close to major tourist attractions. Hotels near the top attractions are expensive, but they offer many facilities you need to make your stay in Paris memorable.
The French Capital is administratively divided into 20 neighborhoods, each is known as an arrondissement. The 1st arrondissement is the city center, and the number of arrondissements increases as you move farther from it. It’s the right bank of the Seine River where many tourist attractions are located. There are also many other best areas to stay in Paris with families. Consider the following four factors to decide on where to stay in Paris:
- The purpose of visiting Paris
- Your budget
- Duration of your stay
- Coming alone or with family

Where not to stay in Paris?
It’s important to know about where to stay in Paris and where not to stay before arriving in the city. Selecting the wrong area for accommodation can ruin your trip to the beautiful city. We found some tourists struggling and spending more money to explore the city, just because of their accommodation in the wrong place. Avoid staying in crowded places to prevent noise problems. 19th and 20th arrondissements aren’t for tourists. So, don’t book a hotel in these areas if you’re here for tourism.
Also, there are some areas where the petty crime rate is very high. The snatchers and scammers especially target foreigners and tourists in the hope of getting big money. The areas of Stalingrad, Jaurès, and Barbès-Rochechouart aren’t safe, especially at night.
